When I got a demo of Tetra a few years back when Nielson Communications was bringing the technology to the states, what really appealed to me was the same channel repeater aspects. I mean if you are going to have a TDMA radio, why would you ignore this possibility.

Looks like some of that is being introduced into DMR:

So far I haven't found a price. But you know what they say... if you have to ask its likely too expensive.
