GB DMR Repeater -- New System October 2017
GB DMR Repeater -- New System October 2017
The Green Bay DMR repeater has been replaced.
Still using coordinated frequency: 442.83125 +5 CC6
New system has a different talkgroup layout, taking a 'consumed airtime' approach.
Current supported talkgroups:
-Timeslot 1
--TG 9 Local, ARS
--TG 310 TAC310, PTT 5 minute timeout
--TG 3100 USA, PTT 10 minute timeout
-Timeslot 2
--TG 311 TAC311, PTT 2 minute timeout (turns off 3155 for 5 minutes)
--TG 312 TAC312, PTT 2 minute timeout (turns off 3155 for 5 minutes)
--TG 3155 WI Statewide, always on (shut off by TAC311/312 for 5 minutes)
ARS and Info Gateway have moved to ID 13155055
--ARS Status page: http://qth.kc9uhi.net:14680
DMR traffic log: http://dmr.kc9uhi.net
Repeater is not directly connected to BrandMeister; talkgroups not listed or on opposite timeslot will be dropped into the bit bucket. Contact KC9UHI for IPSC, HBLink, or CC-CC connections (experimentation encouraged!).

Re: GB DMR Repeater -- New System October 2017
Looking into methods to connect hotspot (dvmini) with the local 9 talkgroup. More info to come.
Re: GB DMR Repeater -- New System October 2017
DV4mini hotspot connections are now available to the Local 9 talkgroup!
Connect to DMR+ Master KC9UHI-1, reflector 4753
For those using MMDVM/OpenSpot, server address is link.kc9uhi.net
Feedback of successful connections is appreciated, as I only have a dv4mini currently.
[[edit 29Dec19 - dmr-plus went EOL some time ago, no current hotspot connectivity]]
[[edit 6Jan20 - new hotspot bridge active - see post below]]

TAC310-312 Now Available
TAC310, TAC311, TAC312 are now available on-demand, with a 5 minute local inactivity timer.
These are commonly used world-wide talkgroups for holding a QSO between two or more repeaters, to minimize network usage and allow for more people to use the repeater systems. A QSO on TG3100 will key-up several hundred repeaters. TG3155 will do about a dozen. In most situations, a user has to 'request' TAC310-312 traffic from the repeater by keying briefly. They will then receive traffic on that talkgroup for a set amount of time. This reduces network resource utilization by only activating the couple repeaters that the users are actually using to hold their QSO.
Due to the sometimes high inbound elsewhere traffic on WI-3155 (TS2), local use of TAC311/TAC312 will turn off WI-3155 for 5 minutes to allow for QSO. Any local usage of WI-3155 will re-enable it.
TAC310 is on TS1, usage should fit in well with current patterns.
Addition Summary:
-TImeslot 1
--TG 310 TAC310, PTT 5 minute timeout
-TImeslot 2
--TG 311 TAC311, PTT 5 minute timeout (turns off 3155 for 5 minutes)
--TG 312 TAC312, PTT 5 minute timeout (turns off 3155 for 5 minutes)

Updated Talkgroup Timeouts
Timeouts of the User-Activated talkgroups have been adjusted.
TAC310-312 will now go for 5 minutes.
3100 goes for 10 minutes.
Any local user transmit activity on the talkgroup will reset the timer.

Re: GB DMR Repeater -- New System October 2017
The repeater system will have intermittent downtime for backend upgrades. Local QSO will still work, however linked talkgroups will have limited/no availability. The status log (dmr.kc9uhi.net) will also be non-updated for a bit.
This post will be updated when all is back online.
[26Jun2019 11:22CDT] Everything seems to be up and running.

Re: GB DMR Repeater -- New System October 2017
The ARS and InfoGateway system has been completely rebuilt
WeatherUnderground disabled their weather API some time ago; weather report (noaa <zip>) is disabled pending me getting some time to adapt a different API into the system.

Re: GB DMR Repeater -- New System October 2017
DV4mini hotspot connections available again to Local 9 talkgroup
Requirements:
-latest dv4mini software and stick firmware from xreflector.net http://xreflector.net/Download/DV4mini/inhalt.html
-patched dv4mini.exe (redirects server list source) http://cloud7.kc9uhi.net/dv4mini.zip
1) Install dv4mini software, replace dv4mini.exe in installation directory with patched version
2) Update dv4mini firmware
3) on the "DVControl" tab, press the red 'DISC' button. This'll stop the software from trying to connect somewhere while things get set up.
4) enter your DMR ID under 'personal settings' (this is the ID the software will use to log into the server, doesn't actually get transmitted)
5) under 'DV4mini Settings' box, select 'DMR". Pick any reflector, this isn't used anymore.
6) switch to the 'Expert Settings' tab
7) under 'DMR', click the 'BM' option bubble
8) type PASSWORD in the 'HOTSPOT Password' box
9) click the 'DMR+IPSC2' option bubble
10) select 'I2:HB-KC9UHI' in the drop-down list (at the bottom)
11) switch to the 'DV Control' tab
12) click the green 'CONNECT' button
Program your radio to use Group Call (TG) 9, Color Code 1 on your selected DV4mini frequency
