Re: aprs <--> trbo with [crossband] voice
Tell me more about the radio USB cable, and what that all lets you export from the radio. I assume this is how you get the GPS data out of the mobile unit using the perl routine? I'd like to see the perl thing in action. (In person or maybe make a video?) What your doing is what would interest me, s...

Re: Ubiquiti XW Problem
The latest: http://www.arednmesh.org/content/support-ubiquiti-equipment-manufactured-2014 Also we tried to link to Scrays from the Cave this weekend, this time using a 15 dBi dish, still no go. There were like 20+ MAC addresses on channel 1 at the cave. So 2.4 GHz is looking to be pretty useless at ...

Ubiquiti XW Problem
In Jan 2015 newer 5 GHz Ubiquiti gear was found to be using new Atheros Chips, the AR9342 chip, where as the older gear was AR724X. So far there is no broad band hamnet firmware builds for the XW hardware. http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/ubiquiti/nanostationm5 Bob was one of the first unlucky people who...

Re: aprs <--> trbo with [crossband] voice
I bought a similar type of buck converter, so that I could have a high current 5 volt source from of my Astron.
Mine didn't have the micro usb plug. No biggie though, I just wacked one off something laying in the junk box.

Re: Mesh stuff
A bit dated but does a good job summarizing what MESH is and what it's good for:

Re: Seeking
Metal has been found and the thing is built. I am awaiting Pete's return from Europe in mid June. At that point we will talk to the WFRV engineer and the first project will be to replace the 775 antenna. We also ordered some Ubiquiti tough cable yesterday. I see Wausau is playing on 2.4 GHz. http://...

Seeking
I have adapted the mount on the donated sector antenna for the 4.5 inch legs of the WFRV tower. I need to build an ice bridge/shield to mount above this antenna, or it will likely not survive any falling ice. I am seeking a 3x3 ft piece of expanded metal for this. This is that mesh like stuff typica...
