Built these for the Cellcom Marathon. Can easily be used for other low-impact object tracking too. Outer box is a 15" toolbox , less than $6 at fleet farm. Inside: -12Ah SLA battery, UB12120 , approx $25 on amazon/ebay/etc. -Radius M100 radio (have a pile of them laying around) -TinyTrak3+ (Byo...

Re: APRS Station Display
Success. The nuvi 2555 has lifetime map updates with it, so no issues there. Programmed the T3-mini with the onboard mini USB port and wired everything up, and... nothing. Nothing happened. Measured the 5v line on the T3-mini - something like 1.7v - nowhere close to 5. Hooked up an external 7805, no...

Re: OLSR on Ubiquiti PicoStation2
Had to adjust the dns settings in the web interface to the domain of 'local.mesh' instead of the default 'lan'. Somehow hadn't crossed my mind earlier. Now it's all working nicely.

OLSR on Ubiquiti PicoStation2
Success. Sorta. Flashed the latest version of openwrt attitude_adjustment onto a ubiquiti picostation2 today. Had to use the reset button and tftp method. Rebooted and functioned properly. Used the built in web interface to configure lan ip (couldn't find any standard pattern for ip selection, so I ...

APRS Station Display
When I first installed an APRS unit in my pickup, I wanted a display of nearby stations, and messaging capabilities. At the time, the only thing on the market with display was the FoxView http://www.foxdelta.com/products/foxview.htm from FoxDelta. A kit item from India, running software from multipl...

Also in the Tracker3 family is the T3-Micro - https://www.argentdata.com/catalog/prod ... cts_id=170
Miniature size and built in GPS receiver. Downside that it's powered via the USB port at 5 volts.

Re: TINYTRAK3 SMT
Picked up a couple small, high sensitivity, gps modules - http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-UART-Serial-GPS-Module-Arduino-uController-w-Breakout-Board-Pins-/330725788211?pt=GPS_Devices&hash=item4d00cb0a33 - from a guy in Sheboygan. They'll need a max232 level converter to speak rs232 levels, but that...

147.435 P25 Repeater
Recently brought online a P25 repeater in Green Bay. It operates on an odd split, 147.435 out, 144.590 in. NAC 223. It also has analog input with DCS 223 for DTMF control. Repeater is composed of two Astro Spectra 110w model radios interfaced via a USB sound fob to a computer running asterisk and ap...

Outdoor Enclosures
I just ordered one of these - http://www.ebay.com/itm/360781359144 on ebay. It's a 9x9 plastic box for cable tv demarcation point, but may work well for housing a wrt54g router outside. Another option at twice the price is an aluminum enclosure from Tycon http://tycononline.com/accessories/enclosure...
